After creating your profile, you can submit your license, insurance, and certifications for verification. Our team reviews submissions within 24–48 hours. Once verified, you'll receive badges on your profile that show up in the Trade Directory and Bid Board, helping you stand out to potential clients.

Is there a free plan after the 6 months?

Yes. The Free plan is genuinely free — forever. After your 6 months of Pro, you can drop down to Free and keep 1 active project, 5 trade connections, basic messaging, and Trade Directory access at no cost. Paid plans (Starter $39/mo, Pro $79/mo, Small Business $99/mo, Enterprise custom) are there for teams that need more.

Do I need a credit card to sign up?

No. You sign up with just your email and get 6 months of Pro free. We only ask for payment details if you decide to continue on a paid plan after the 6 months are up.

Can I switch plans at any time?

Yes. You can upgrade or downgrade at any time from your account settings. When you upgrade, you get immediate access to the new features. When you downgrade, you'll keep access to your current plan until the end of the billing period. We'll prorate any differences.

Are there any transaction fees?

ContractorsChat doesn't process payments or charge transaction fees — we don't touch your money. You create and send invoices in the app, and if you connect your own Stripe account to get paid online, any processing fees are Stripe's and go directly through your account.

Yes. Annual billing saves you 20%. That works out to $31/month for Starter (instead of $39), $63/month for Pro (instead of $79), and $79/month for Small Business (instead of $99). You can switch between monthly and annual billing at any time.

How does the Bid Board work?

GCs post job opportunities with details like scope of work, timeline, budget range, and required certifications. Trade professionals in the area can browse open jobs, submit bids with pricing and timeline proposals, and the GC compares all bids side-by-side. Once a bid is awarded, the trade is automatically added to the project for seamless communication.

Can I share files and documents?

Yes. Share blueprints, specs, photos, change orders, invoices, and any other documents directly within project conversations or in the dedicated Document Management area. Files are stored securely and organized by project. Free accounts get 100 MB of storage, Starter gets 2 GB, Pro gets 10 GB, and Small Business/Enterprise get unlimited storage.

How does invoicing work?

Trade professionals create and submit professional invoices directly within a project. They can attach photos of completed work, time logs, and material receipts. GCs receive the invoice, review it, and approve or request changes with one click. To get paid online, connect your own Stripe account and send a payment link — ContractorsChat doesn't process or hold the funds. Every step is tracked with timestamps for a complete audit trail.

We support QuickBooks-compatible export (IIF/CSV) for accounting on Small Business and Enterprise plans. Enterprise users can request API access for custom integrations. We also support CSV and PDF exports for all financial data.

Only people you invite to a project can see its conversations and documents. You have full control over who has access, and can add or remove team members at any time. Project data is never visible to other users outside the project.
