Introducing Contractor Chat: A Better Way to Build Together

Today, we are opening early access to Contractor Chat -- a communication platform built specifically for general contractors and trade professionals. We want to take a moment to share why we built it, what it does, and where we are headed.

The Frustration That Started It All

Contractor Chat was born out of a firsthand frustration that anyone in construction will recognize. We watched a simple kitchen renovation spiral into a three-month ordeal -- not because of bad work, but because of bad communication. The GC was texting the plumber, emailing the cabinet supplier, calling the electrician, and keeping notes on a legal pad. The homeowner was getting conflicting updates. Nobody had a clear picture of where the project stood.

We looked at the tools available and saw a gap. On one end, there were massive enterprise platforms designed for billion-dollar infrastructure projects -- expensive, complex, and overkill for the vast majority of contractors. On the other end, there was... texting. Group chats with twenty people where critical information disappeared into the scroll within hours.

There was nothing in between. Nothing built for the residential GC managing five to ten projects. Nothing built for the independent electrician trying to keep track of bids across multiple contractors. Nothing that felt as simple as texting but actually organized information in a way that made sense for construction work.

So we decided to build it.

What Contractor Chat Does

Contractor Chat is a platform where general contractors and trade professionals can communicate, manage projects, and do business together. Here is what it includes at launch:

Everything is mobile-first, because we know that construction work does not happen at a desk. The entire platform is designed to be used from a phone, between tasks, on the job site. If it takes more than a few taps, we have not done our job.

Why Upstate South Carolina First

We are launching Contractor Chat in the Greenville-Spartanburg area of Upstate South Carolina, and there is a specific reason for that. Construction platforms fail when they try to be everything to everyone everywhere all at once. They end up with a directory full of unverified profiles, features that do not quite fit any particular market, and no real community.

We are doing the opposite. We are starting in one market and building a real, dense network of contractors and trades who actually work together. Upstate SC is one of the fastest-growing construction markets in the Southeast, with a strong mix of residential, commercial, and light industrial work. The construction community here is tight-knit but growing, which means there is both existing trust to build on and new connections to be made.

Our goal is simple: make Contractor Chat the standard way GCs and trades communicate in Upstate SC. Once we have proven the model here, we will expand to other markets.

Early Access: Free to Start, No Credit Card

Contractor Chat is free to join during early access. There is no credit card required, no trial period that expires, and no bait-and-switch. We want as many contractors and trades in the Upstate as possible to try it, give us feedback, and help us shape the product into something that genuinely works for their day-to-day.

In the future, we will offer paid plans with advanced features for larger firms. But the core platform -- messaging, trade directory, and basic bidding -- will always have a free tier. We believe the network effect is the product. The more people on the platform, the more valuable it is for everyone.

Where We Are Headed

This launch is just the beginning. Our roadmap includes features like integrated scheduling, payment processing, material ordering, and deeper project management tools. But we are not building in a vacuum. Every feature we add will be shaped by the feedback of the contractors and trades who use the platform every day.

We believe construction deserves better tools. Not tools designed by software engineers who have never been on a job site, but tools shaped by the people who actually do the work. That is what we are building, and we want you to be part of it.

Ready to try it? Sign up for early access today. It takes less than a minute, and you will be among the first to experience a better way to communicate, bid, and build in Upstate South Carolina.
